Reddit Is Currently Down, Platform Says Issue Is Being Investigated [Update]
You’ll have to elsewhere for your memes for a bit.
Reddit is currently down, sending users who normally frequent the popular social media site to other platforms to share memes, check the news, and ask AITA.
According to Downdetector, IGN’s sister site, the outage began around 1pm PT / 4pm ET. Users trying to visit the site will encounter errors or messages saying that the community their trying to visit does not exist. [Update: The issue has been resolved and it looks like Reddit is back.]
Investigating: We are currently investigating this issue. https://t.co/beVxns2e9I
In a message on X/Twitter, Reddit said that it is “investigating this issue.”
Confused users quickly took to other platforms to see if others were experiencing the same issues. It wasn’t long before various jokes and image memes began to appear.

“I don’t like that I’ve become the kind of person that notices when Reddit is down. What has become of me,” one X/Twitter user joked. Indeed, I happened to notice the outage on my lunch break when I went to check on the latest West Ham news on the r/hammers subreddit. Alas!
There’s no timeline on when service will be restored to Reddit, so sit tight. We’ll publish more updates on IGN as we get them.
